LJJA Black Belt Ben Baxter Wins Master Absolute at Houston Open and Team Lovato Leaves with 20 Medals

We had an incredible weekend for the LJJA Team Lovato at the IBJJF Houston Open. There were competitors from so many different affiliates that came together & supported one another. With 21 competitors we were able to leave with 20 medals: 7 gold, 7 silver, & 6 bronze! Here are the individual results from the weekend:

Michael Clark - Blue Master3 Ultra Heavy & Open - 3rd

Vinny Saenz - Purple Adult Light Feather - 2nd

Michael Salazar - Purple Adult Middle - 2nd

Zach Coffee - Purple Adult Heavy - 2nd

Justin Ternes - Purple Master2 Feather - 1st

Robbie Walsh - Purple Master2 Heavy & Open - 1st & 2nd

Jared Dopp - Black Adult Ultra Heavy & Open - 2nd & 3rd


And our stand out for the Houston Open was Professor Ben Baxter of Performance Martial Arts Academy who took 2nd in the Black Belt Master 1 Super Heavy & came back to become the 2x Black Belt Master 1 Absolute Champion! Congratulations to him on this incredible performance as well as all our competitors who left everything on the mats & represented what Lovato Jiu Jitsu is all about! We would also like to give a shout out to Professor Jared Dopp of Lovato's BJJ & MMA as well as Professor Eddie Saenz from Kingdom Jiu Jitsu who coached our warriors the entire weekend.
